Camp NAWIC Construction Camp Milwaukee

Camp NAWIC MKE has been created as a community outreach program to target high school age girls to kindle their interest in pursuing a career in the construction industry.  It is our desire that upon completing the Camp sessions, participants will have a clear understanding of the necessary skill-sets required by those engaged in the construction industry. It is a unique summer day camp program for girls that will introduce them to exciting opportunities within the construction industry.

Each day of Camp the girls will focus on one skilled trade area taught by a seasoned instructor while on campus, or while visiting an industry partner. Campers will be challenged to learn skills they have never considered while having fun.

Girls may decide to pursue additional skill training at a local technical college, apprenticeship program, or continue on a college path in engineering, architecture, construction management, or any other construction related major.

Campers receive their own personal protective equipment (PPE) and Camp t-shirts. Campers will take home completed projects made throughout the week* of training.

If you have any questions concerning Camp NAWIC please do not hesitate to email the camp directors at  campnawicmke105@gmail.com

NAWIC Milwaukee & Milwaukee Habitat Women Build Event

Since 1991, Women Build volunteers from all walks of life have come together to build stronger, safer communities.

Though our neighborhoods are comprised largely of women and children, they are also the population’s most likely to be affected by poor living conditions. Our Women Build events provide the opportunity for women to take a proactive step in serving their communities.

Women Build opportunities are available across the U.S., and any woman who wants to learn how to build and construct a home is invited to join us. No experience is necessary. Volunteers work under the guidance of construction professionals, and also alongside other volunteers and future Habitat homeowners. Whether you are learning new skills or simply adding a few to your tool belt, this is a rewarding experience for all involved, and improves the community that you share.

Women Build is also a terrific way to involve your friends and family of all ages in crucial work with a lasting impact. Women helping women sends a positive and powerful message. You can also come alone, and make new friends. The atmosphere is collaborative and friendly.

Join Milwaukee Habitat and the National Association of Women In Construction Milwaukee Chapter this year while we help to transform a neighborhood by helping to build one of four houses (out of the 25 houses) over the course of three days. Volunteers work under the guidance of construction professionals, alongside other volunteers and future Habitat homeowners!

Pick which day you want to volunteer...heck pick them all! This is a full day committment though so please keep that in mind when committing.

We will get a tour of the entire neighborhood 'under construction' and lunch is catered.

Standard PPE is required; no other tools or equipment is needed.

Are you ready to build with us?
